# Account context

> Check the active workspace and payment readiness before account-scoped or paid work.

Call `get_account` when the agent needs to know which workspace its credential can access. The returned `app_id` and `organization_id` describe the scope applied by the backend. An ordinary API key is scoped to its organization; a session uses the active account context.

Platform admins can use `list_organizations` with optional `search` and pass an `organization_id` to `get_account` or another public API tool. The search runs before pagination. The `owners` list can contain multiple active owners or be empty. Confirm the matched organization with the human before using its ID for a consequential action. Use the selected organization for writes and paid actions in another organization; the key's scopes and spend cap still apply. Organization owner/admin membership does not grant platform-wide access.

`billing.available_credits` is a count of credit units after pending transactions, not an amount of USD. `billing.available_balance_usd` is their value at the account's current conversion rate when the wallet is denominated in USD; it is `null` when no reliable conversion is available. `payment_method_on_file` says only whether a method is saved. None of these fields approves a paid action or guarantees that a particular launch can be funded. Show the current estimate and obtain the user's approval before spending.
